A group of swimmers encounters humpback whales in the water
A humpback whale calf plays with its new friends
An adult humpback whale is as big as a school bus.
The basis of a Soft-In-Water encounter is a passive, non-aggressive activity wherein the participants float quietly on the surface of the ocean in the vicinity of a tolerant and cooperative whale or whales, and allow the natural curiosity of the whale to draw it closer.
Please note that many of these photos portray whale watching activities from trips aboard the M/V Wind Dancer. In previous years, the Wind Dancer was the vessel used by Conscious Breath Adventures. But for the 2010 whale watching season, we've upgraded to the M/V Sun Dancer II — a bigger, more comfortable vessel. Find out more about the M/V Sun Dancer II »
